Is 110mb good? A 110mb Review.

110mb is a large free webhosting provider. Since 2006 they have worked up to over 1 million users. I, personally use them for only static websites, that are being developed..and I’ll explain why in a second.

110mb not only has a free plan, but they also have a premium plan.. They claim the premium route is the way to go, as you get better support and better up-time, In my opinion the premium is really no different then the free.. in terms of support/ uptime. The only big difference between the two plans is the access to resources you will have.

As I said, I don’t use there services as a permanent solution.. Heres why — There servers are constantly down. For over the past year, their servers have not even been up 90% Of the time.. Even the 110mb homepage is constantly down. For a webhost provider that wants to grow..and eventually become a PAID webhost.. this is not the way to prove themselves.

Many times I have hanged around the 110mb Forum, and it seems the thread that is always on the top of the forum, is another customer complaining about their site being down, or another user letting the staff know that they are leaving.

In regards to the downtime of their server, 110mb always claims it is because of data-center problems, They use burstnet (Burstnet is not the best data-center, but their servers are way more reliable then what 110mb claims them to be).

Another thing I have noticed about 110mb is how extremely rude the staff are. When someone lets them know about a server being down, 110mb staff always make a rude comment, and make the consumer feel like they don’t know what they are talking about.

So, is 110mb any good?

In my opinion, NO! I would not recommend this host to anyone. Not only are there the problems that were outlined above, but, If you plan on growning any website into one that will be need more space then 110mb, or even a database connection.. you shouldn’t even waste your time starting here. The features that 110mb.com offers are so outdated, only websites that were developed in the 90′s could be ran (this is when the internet was just starting out, and most websites didn’t need to much space or resources).

This is up to you, if you want to see if the above is true, Go ahead. I just thought that people that were researching this would want to know this information.

If you are a current 110mb user, and would like to let others what you think about this host, feel free to comment below.

Like the review said I’m frequently timing out whenever I try to access my site. I started using WordPress and discovered that 110mb.com hasn’t updated their PHP in about 6 years so I’m forced to use a really old version of WP.

About billing: I signed up for premium about 2 years ago. After 2 months of using this I started encountering the frequent down time problems so I took a small vacation to wait for them to get their sht straight. When I came back I was not able to log into my account anymore. I hassled the staff about my password not being reset like it’s supposed to but it took so long to get this cleared up I ended up forgetting about it…until I got a paypal message saying that another year of 110mb.com hosting service was being charged. That same day I tried to get a hold of staff in order to cancel this renewal and instead got some legal disclaimer jargon thrown at me. I pointed out that this jargon was not under the terms of service and they said that they needed to update that. So pretty much I’m stuck with another year of prepaid sub-par service now.
